Johan Dircksz van Nes (before 1599-1650). Portrait painter. In Guild 1618. He came from a wealthy family.

He lived on Geer.

Van Nes taught Christiaan van Couwenbergh (1604-1667).

Note. GAD Huizenprotocol III, fol. Fol. 960 as Johan van der Nes (identical person?). Thieme-B. XXV p. 394. Hofstede de Groot Quellenstudien 1897, p. 361 mentions entry into Guild in 1617 not 1618; Montias 1981 p. 200 mentions 10 October 1618. Pupil of M. van Mierevelt. Saur XXII p. 45.
