Eva Briels (before 1609-1659). In 1631 she married the lawyer Nicolaas Bogaert who died before her. Her inventory which included some 35 paintings was valued in 1658. Prize possessions were a 'Judgement' by Abraham J. Bloemaert worth 250 / 350 guilders, and a 'Battle' by Palamedes worth 200 guilders. Address possibly Markt 4.
RKD Bredius archive. Box '1658', quoting the 29 Apr. 1658 valuation. Judgement of Midas by A.J. Bloemaert worth 250 - but Montias 1998 p. 100 quotes it as being 350 guilders, and being by Abraham Janssens. There were a Huis van Plaesance (Pleasant House?) by Houckgeest (90 guilders) and a Beach by Porcellis (100 guilders). The paintings were valued by Gillis de Bergh and A. de Cooge. GAD internet DTB inv. Shows she was a witness in 1627, probably was at least 18 years old by then. Marriage 2 Nov. 1631 (OK inv. 20).
