David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash & Neil Young

I love the music of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash & Neil Young most of all because of sublime moments of soaring choral harmonies. It lifts my spirit and makes me think of cathedral architecture. Such a vibrant and sublime quality.

This is what Art Garfunkel (the blond one with the angel voice) once said on Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young:

"You have the brilliant Graham, who's so adaptable in that upper range and has such a perfect cutting edge and is ideally suited to combination from his Hollies experience. You have Stephen, who has a real personality of voice, and you have David, the velvety sort of cement in their sound... the middle man does the stuff that makes the chord work, but you never notice it... There is a Zen-smooth kind of exhale in David's delivery. He has a great come-from-the-heart-feel in his singing and he loves rock'n'roll. You can hear it."

Neil Young pointed at David, the middle man, as the spiritual leader of CSN&Y.
