Johannes Vermeer. Roof lines at the left hand top. The left hand part clearly shows a small roof which is covering a lean-to side room which is attached as an extra spece to a main house. Such architecture was discovered in Nieuwe Langendijk 22 during the 1982 research and demolition. Within the roof of the main house at nr. 22 mr. Wim Weve discovered the remains of a roof timber construction which proved that in the past a lean-to side room existed at the site known as nr. 24 in 1982. Later on, during demolition a filled-in door opening was discovered in the side wall of nr. 22. The roof beams first sparked the Mr. Weve's brainwave for the present identification with Vermeer.
