Wijdt ship. Anonymous technical drawing. View from above of a "Wijdtschip" This is a larger type of "kromsteven" defined as a Dutch inland sailing ship with curved stern posts. The rudder pole projected through these stern posts called "hek". Inscription: "Lanck over steven 70 voeten, wijt 20 voeten". Coll. Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum, Amsterdam, inv. I.11.1.

I did not find an early depiction of a "smalschip" in the archives. One may however imagine a slender version of this "wijdtschip" .
